Another great High Sierra Backpack is planned for this summer, July 26—August 1. We’re taking the “Minarets/ Thousand Island Loop” trip starting at Agnew Meadows and finishing up at Devil’s Postpile, eating at the famous Red’s Meadow Café for cheeseburgers, fries, and malts. We’ll hike by and/or camp at Thousand Island Lake, Ruby Lake, Garnet Lake, Ediza Lake, Iceberg Lake, Minaret Lake, and Johnston Lake. We will be as close to the dramatic Minarets as is possible without technical climbing gear. The cost is $125. You need to get a $50 deposit in immediately to hold your place as we only have trail permits for a certain number. You can give your deposit to Jim Price or Ab Kastl.
